APD worked closely with Jon Rafman on the design and concept for Temple, a unique installation within which two video works, Remember Carthage and A Man Digging, were presented simultaneously. The installation’s design evolved from an interest in the work of Ettore Sottsass, utilizing his colorful, geometric sculptures as inspirations to create a classical temple ruin with post-modern forms. Using unfinished gypsum, discarded ceiling tiles, and various contemporary building materials, the installation showcased the interplay between new building materials’ raw temporality and the classical forms of the ancient ruin.

APD assisted Rafman with concept development, design, 3D modelling, CAD exhibition drawings, and coordination of the installation with the team at the Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal.

Remember Carthage / A Man Digging (Temple) was exhibited in a solo exhibition at Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal in 2015. A second iteration of the work was presented at the Zabludowicz Collection, London, later that year.
