Les Tendresses

Les Tendresses is a large scale installation commissioned for Banque Nationale in Montréal. The work comprises three twelve foot sculptures built around structural steel frameworks and finished with moulded scagliola exteriors, an ancient plaster technique that imitates marble. Each distinct form, one upright and elegant, one soft and flowing, one ornate and whimsical, extends the artist’s exploration of the connections between architecture, the body, material making, and decoration, as well as an interest in transitional architectural plastering techniques such as scagliola and Venetian plaster.​​​

APD assisted the artist with artwork fabrication and installation.
