As a continuum of series of Jon Rafman Troll Cave viewing structures, this foam version presented a juxtaposition between a raw unfinished exterior and a high gloss finishing on the interior. From the outside the viewer encounters a unfinished structure covered in industrial spray foam sitting aloft old salvaged wooded beams. The structure is odd and uninviting and it only when the enter that they are rewarded with a shinny mirror clad interior with silver upholstery cushions and integrated video monitor.

APD assisted the artist, Jon Rafman, in two stages of design and production. They include concept design, 3D modelling and AutoCAD drawings for exhibition. And the art fabrication of the completed structure; with customized millwork, metal work, AV installation, and upholstery production.

The Troll Cave was exhibited in 2015 at the Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal.
