A site-specific installation of a nail salon constructed from an aluminum frame. The work reimagines the salon as an apothecary and site of resistance, drawing parallels to the long acrylic nails worn by Black women. The installation translates the historical threat once associated with the sight of a Black person with long nails into a contemporary context, transforming it into a space of power and healing.
APD assisted the artist with artwork fabrication, crating, and installation.
